This project consisted of the demolition of two existing school buildings and the construction of a 125,000 sq. ft., Pre-K through 8th grade public school, 20,000 sq.ft. recreation center, 5,000 sq.ft. community library, two on-site parking lots and a new public street. This facility was completed under a deign-build method enabling us to design and build the project in less than 24 months, making it the fastest public school ever built in the District of Columbia. This facility is LEED Silver certified and is the first public school recreation center and library ever built in Washington, D.C. It received the NAIOP DC | MD Award of Excellence and was the first public investment in the Northwest One neighborhood as part of a $700 million public investment in this community.
