Banneker's Clara on Martin Luther King Project Selected to Receive Funding to Produce 81 Units of Affordable Housing

District of Columbia Mayor Muriel Bowser Funds 10 Projects to Build and Preserve 940 Homes

Today, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser announced that ten projects have been selected to receive funding to produce and preserve 940 affordable homes and more than 300 market rate homes. Banneker, along with its non-profit partner, Medina Life, a Masjid Muhammad community development corporation, and nine other development teams will join the ongoing affordable housing initiative in the District to produce more affordable housing. Banneker's project will redevelop one half of a city block and bring 81 new units of housing and ground floor retail space.

The Clara on MLK is located in the Anacostia neighborhood of Ward 8 and will include a retail and residential community.
