Banneker Ventures Receives Champion Award at Minority Small Business Construction Conference

Rockville, Maryland – March 21, 2015. Banneker received the Champion Award at the first Minority Small Business Construction Conference held at the Montgomery County Executive Office Building in Rockville, MD.

The Minority Small Business Construction Conference is held each year to offer leadership and networking for minority businesses, local, state and federal government agencies and elected officials.  Montgomery County Executive Isiah “Ike” Leggett was the keynote speaker for the event.

“I accept this award on behalf of the hardworking men and women at Banneker Ventures,” said Mr. Karim as the recipient of the first Champion Award.  Banneker Ventures celebrates ten years in business, this coming August.  Starting out in real-estate, the company has successfully managed the construction of over 2M sq. ft. of government and commercial projects.  Vice President of Operations, Shay-La Romney agrees with Mr. Karim’s remarks, “This is why we’re champions!  Our company provides a service to our customers that cannot be duplicated.  Banneker is willing to take the tough projects.  We answer the call, prepared to be of service.”
