WHO WE ARE Banneker Ventures is a diversified real estate firm that specializes in providing development, real estate advisory, construction management and investment management services to the public and private sector. The firm focuses its resources and experience on transforming neighborhoods throughout the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States, and at times, other parts of the United States. The firm is named in honor of the brilliant mathematician, astronomer and surveyor Benjamin Banneker who worked on the survey for the Federal District, which is now Washington, D.C. Born in 1731, Benjamin Banneker lived a life of unusual achievement. He was an astronomer, predicting future solar and lunar eclipses, compiling the ephemeris for annual almanacs which became top sellers in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States, mathematician, and surveyor. In 1980, the U.S. Postal Service issued a postage stamp in his honor. OUR MISSION Banneker Ventures' mission is "To change the world . . . one community at a time" through physical investments, human capital investments and financial investments. To accomplish this mission, the firm (1) works on projects that are substantial in nature; (2) finds creative ways to maximize affordable housing units in all residential projects; (3) utilizes excellent architectural and sustainable design elements in all projects; (4) works closely with community organizations and trade associates to ensure that historically economically disadvantaged persons and firms benefit from opportunities created by our projects; and (5) re-invests a portion of our profits into the communities in which we work. OUR HISTORY Founded in 2005, Banneker Ventures is a District of Columbia-based, privately held, diversified development, real estate advisory, construction management and investment management firm. Banneker's senior staff has more than 50 years of real estate development, construction, finance and design experience in both the public and private real estate markets.
